Oat Water For Weight Loss?
Can oat water help you lose belly fat? Beta-glucan fiber is a soluble fiber found in oats that forms a gel-like viscosity when it is mixed with water, slows down food digestion and absorption and makes us feel full longer.
There is also evidence that the beta-glucan stimulates the release of the hormone, peptide Y-Y, a hormone responsible for further suppressing your appetite.
Combining the appetite-suppressing hormones and slower digestion ensures you will feel fuller for longer and eat less.

Improves Blood Sugar
Though oats contain carbohydrates, being rich in beta-glucan also increases the viscosity of the intestinal content. This slows down carbohydrate absorption, providing a steady, long-acting source of energy and allowing blood sugar levels to rise slowly and stay within an optimal range for longer. Even better, evidence points to beta-glucan possibly improving insulin sensitivity, providing type 2 diabetes protection.
Are Oats a Whole Food?
Oatmeal quality is important, so choose organic rolled or steel-cut oats. Oats grow in an inedible casing called a hull, containing a seedlike groat. That groat is encased in bran. But because it is very soft, that bran layer can’t really be removed. That means oats are almost always a whole-grain food.
If oats are "steel cut," it means they were processed with a steel cutter.
Rolled oats are steamed first, then pressed with a roller.
Quick cooking (instant) oats are crushed into a thinner flake by the roller.
Nutritionally, there is little difference between steel cut and rolled oats. Instant oats, however, have a higher glycemic index, meaning they raise your blood sugar faster.
How To Make Oat Water
Prepare the oats for faster cooking by grinding them lightly in a blender.
To make oat water put the blended oats (1-2 handfuls make a cup) into 2-3 cups of water in a pot or saucepan and bring to boil, then let sit on stove for 5 minutes. When you reach boiling point, leave it for five minutes off the heat. If you decide to flavour your oatmeal water, also add to the pot 1-2 cinnamon sticks before it comes to boil.
Now strain the oat water using a fine mesh strainer into a glass. You may add some honey or other condiments (if desired) and enjoy hot. You can also put the liquid into the fridge to drink cold.
Does Oat Water Taste Good?
Yes it does! It has a natural nutty taste. If you want to lose those extra pounds, drink a glass of oat water in the morning morning on an empty stomach, and another in the afternoon. But remember that no single food can do it all, especially if you load up on sugar and other junk the rest of the day. But you should go ahead and invite oat water into your routine daily to get all of its benefits. It’s easy to make and incredibly cheap.
