Is there something keeping you from persevering?
Do you often feel like you want to stop because you lack motivation?
Failure to endure hardships is common in our age. The human tendency is to want to escape from physical and psychological hardship and difficulties. So starting a journey towards fitness may begin with enthusiasm, but then weaken in the face of challenge and opposition.
Have you noticed this tendency in yourself? Have you ever started getting up early to work out, prepare healthy meals and get more sleep at night, only to “hit the wall” of difficulty and reason that you don’t really need to lose the weight or get fit anyway?
Sometimes there is a disconnect between the desire of a goal and the recognition of what’s necessary to achieve it. I’ll try to spell that out here so that you gain enough perspective to help you get over any possible fitness or lifestyle hurdles.
It’s Not The Goal, It’s The Journey!
Fitness isn’t an easy journey. If you take a daily walk or play some tennis, sure. But if you want to build a foundation of lean muscle, regain health or lose weight, there’s discipline and hard work, as well as overcoming urges, habits and desires that now rule your life. Things like:
Waking up late
Eating junk foods
Drinking too much alcohol
Laziness
Procrastination
And so on….
