The Real Human Diet
About 25 years ago I decided to make some lifestyle changes:
-I ate less carbs.
-I ate more meat, fish, eggs, whole dairy. These foods are full of essential minerals & fat, B12 and other B vitamins which play a role in producing brain chemicals that can boost energy and mood. Your brain needs proper nutrition in order to thrive.
-I ate more veggies, berries, etc. as desired.
-I supported farms that build the soil, permacultures (grass-fed beef rather than factory farms or industrialized crops that are pulled up by the root annually w/ mechanization).
-I stopped using toxic vegetable oil, canola oil and margarine. I used REAL grass fed butter, olive oil, ghee, coconut oil, or avocado oil instead.
-I realized that just because a product is on the shelf, doesn't mean it's safe. The FDA has approved many unsafe products for human consumption.
Instead of toast w/ peanut butter for breakfast, I added some banana, nuts, coconut, hemp seeds, flax or chia seeds.
Once you start eating healthy food, your body doesn’t crave sugar and fried food anymore. Choose fruit if you are craving something sweet and nuts/seeds (almonds, brazil nuts, pistachios, pumpkin seeds, etc.) with sea salt if you are craving something salty.
-Exercise daily to change your body, transform your mind and your mood, regulate hormonal balance, increase strength, stamina and long-term energy.
Implement these things and you'll feel better with improved blood sugar, less inflammation markers, or elevated cholesterol. You'll also see a natural reduction in visceral body fat, with some size lost off the waist.
It sounds somewhat simple, but it's a far safer, healthier and more effective approach than medicines. And the only way it doesn't work is if it's not followed. Prove it and reap the benefits.
