Why Is Coke So Woke?
As appealing as they might be, sugary drinks could be doing some serious damage to your health. Fizzy drinks regularly come under fire from experts who have warned us on countless occasions that they are full of sugar and chemicals with little nutritional value. But many are still unaware of the real damage that the thirst-quenchers can have.
Research conducted by Action on Sugar in 2014 found that 79 per cent of 330ml cans of carbonated sugar-sweetened drinks contains six or more teaspoons of sugar, states a January 2022 Telegraph article. The effects are horrendous, with links to cancer, heart disease, diabetes, premature pregnancies, Alzheimer’s, premature ageing, weight gain, liver damage, early puberty and rotting teeth among many others.
Where it gets sinister with these companies is their increased impact on national health through “woke” hypocrisy. ‘Wokeness’ is a social disease of companies with stale brands that have fallen so out of touch with the needs of consumers that they brainwash and suppress by lecturing them on racism.
Coca-Cola in particular has come under fire after it was revealed that some employees were encouraged to be “less white” as part of diversity training, according to the New York Post.
“In the U.S. and other Western nations, white people are socialized to feel that they are inherently superior because they are white,” reads one of the slides, allegedly sent from an “internal whistleblower” and posted on Twitter.
The training was offered by LinkedIn Education and was called “Confronting Racism.”
As a Fox News article pointed out, Coca-Cola is among those companies that has mastered the art of blowing woke smoke by using progressive values to cover up their actual business practices. They wade into changing voting laws in Georgia, use slave labor in China and fail to deliver on promises to clean up the glut of plastic waste it produces. It's a lot easier for them to teach their employees how to be less white than it is to reckon with their own role in fueling a nationwide epidemic of diabetes and obesity. They want to have it both ways; forcing their values down our throats, but without accountability.
But a recent poll by Rasmussen Reports finds that by a 3–1 margin, respondents oppose major businesses taking a highly visible role in influencing politics. That may explain why Rasmussen found that 37 percent of Americans are less likely to buy Coca-Cola products in the wake of all these headlines. (NationalReview.com)
Is Woke Coke Going Broke?
Coca-Cola’s global sales fell 28 percent in the second quarter of 2020, with the corporate giant blaming the pandemic for its losses. But Coke was struggling long before the pandemic says jewishpress.com. Fewer parents are comfortable with their children living off soda. That’s why one survey found that the number of children drinking over 3 cans of soda a day fell from 10 percent to 3.3 percent.
Coke is going woke because its future is broke, with a majority share of a declining market with limited growth potential. And the company won’t shut up about social justice and the evils of whiteness because that’s a better conversation than its failed portfolio of new brands aimed at a lefty demographic that holds its future in the palms of its soft white manicured hands. Otherwise its whole massive distribution network will be used for little more than moving orange juice, vitamin drinks, and milk around, as soda and fast food go the way of cigarettes.
It’s not just Coke that went woke and broke: it’s the entire system that’s going broke.
